Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers on contract filling and packaging services, labelling and batch management, small-batch production, integrated logistics, and how to work with Plan|B.
Filling and packaging services
Plan|B offers contract bulk filling and semi-finished cosmetic products, handling a wide range of product types: lipsticks, lip balms, lip sticks, anhydrous products, pressed powders, loose powders, foundation, BB/CC creams, primers, concealers, lip gloss, mascara, eyeliner, nail polish, and volatile liquids.
Yes. Plan|B is structured to support large-scale industrial production, small batches, prototyping, scheduled reorders, limited editions, and seasonal collections, while maintaining control, quality, and traceability throughout the entire process.
Primary packaging refers to packaging that comes into direct contact with the product, such as bottles, jars, tubes, sticks, mascara, lip gloss, and powder containers. Secondary packaging, on the other hand, includes cartoning, placing products in boxes or cases, assembling kits, packaging assembly, adding accessories, labeling, batch coding, and final packaging.
Plan|B works with manual, semi-automated and fully automated lines, tailoring operations to the product, volumes, packaging complexity and the customer’s production objectives.
Integrating filling and packaging helps to reduce intermediate steps, handling, processing times and operational errors. This allows the customer to entrust different stages of the cosmetics supply chain to a single partner, whilst maintaining greater control over quality, timelines and traceability.
Labelling, batching and quality control
Yes. Plan|B handles labeling on primary packaging, secondary packaging, and shipping cartons, integrating this activity into cosmetic packaging and logistics processes.
Labels can be applied to bottles, jars, tubes, sticks, mascara, lip gloss, powder containers, cases, gift sets, kits, packages, and shipping units. The process is determined based on the material, the shape of the container, and the product’s aesthetic and functional requirements.
Batch coding includes the application of the batch number, production or expiry date, PAO where required, internal identification codes, barcodes, and variable codes for logistics management.
Plan|B integrates batch management, marking, labeling, and cosmetic logistics to maintain consistency between product, data, and documentation. Each phase is organized to enable unique batch identification, flow monitoring, and support for any inspections or recall procedures.
Quality controls may include visual inspections, functional checks, closure and dispensing checks, weight and dosage verification, sampling, batch testing, readability checks of coding, and verification of packaging compliance.
Small Batches and special collections
Yes. Plan|B handles contract manufacturing of cosmetics, including small-batch production, pilot runs, market testing, limited editions, seasonal collections, PR kits, influencer boxes, and custom configurations.
Yes. Even for low-volume production runs, Plan|B maintains high quality standards, process control, traceability, and a focus on compliance, tailoring production lines, resources, and workflows to the complexity of the project.
A small-scale production is useful for testing a new product, reducing time to market, validating a collection, creating a limited edition, managing a promotional campaign, or responding quickly to market needs without immediately starting large-scale production.

Integrated logistics reduces the number of contacts, limits handling between different suppliers, simplifies the supply chain, improves flow control, optimizes time and costs, and ensures greater operational continuity.
Yes. Through the integrated logistics system, it is possible to manage the storage of raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished products, location organization, stock monitoring, inventory management, and material rotation according to FIFO/FEFO logic.
The Plan|B method and collaboration
No. Plan|B works exclusively with cosmetics manufacturers and contract manufacturers, never directly with brands. This approach allows the company to serve as a neutral, discreet partner specializing in operational support for the supply chain.
Every project begins with a phase of consultation and technical analysis. We assess production needs, product characteristics, the type of bulk or semi-finished goods, packaging, volumes, regulatory requirements, filling technologies, packaging methods, labeling systems, and logistics flows.
Plan|B develops customized solutions. Each project is built around the product, volumes, timelines, operational complexity, and the client’s objectives, adapting processes, resources, lines, and workflows.
Plan|B enters the production process with an operational and proactive approach: it analyzes needs, anticipates possible critical issues, organizes activities, coordinates work phases, and proposes alternative solutions to ensure continuity, control, and respect for deadlines.
Choosing Plan|B means relying on a partner specialized in the cosmetics sector, capable of integrating filling, packaging, labeling, quality control, batch management, and logistics into a single coordinated, flexible, and results-oriented system.
